Role Overview
We are seeking a Mechanical Technician to join a growing workshop team in Saltash. This hands-on role involves building and testing bespoke machinery to exacting standards, working from technical drawings while contributing practical solutions to complex engineering challenges. You'll play an important part in delivering high-quality equipment for customers across a range of manufacturing sectors.
Responsibilities of the Mechanical Technician:
- Build, assemble and test standard and bespoke machinery to specification and quality standards.
- Interpret technical drawings and assist in resolving engineering and assembly challenges.
- Complete inspection records, testing documentation and maintain accurate production records.
- Support machinery servicing, repairs and commissioning while maintaining a safe and organised workshop.
Requirements of the Mechanical Technician:
- Experience in a mechanical assembly, manufacturing or engineering workshop environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Strong practical problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- A proactive approach with a commitment to quality, teamwork and safe working practices.
