Our client, is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to lead the development of data infrastructure that supports advanced analytics, machine learning, and large language model (LLM) initiatives.
You’ll be instrumental in creating robust, scalable data pipelines and integrating modern AI capabilities to enhance claims processing, underwriting, and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines to support analytics and AI/ML initiatives.
- Collaborate with data scientists to productionise machine learning models, including large language models.
- Develop and manage data architectures optimised for performance, security, and reliability.
- Integrate structured and unstructured data from diverse sources into cloud-based data platforms.
- Support the deployment of real-time and batch processing frameworks.
- Advocate for best practices in data governance, quality, and documentation.
Skills and Experience:
- Strong experience in data engineering within cloud environments (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Proven track record building data pipelines with tools such as Python, Spark, SQL, and Airflow.
- Hands-on experience with machine learning lifecycle and model deployment.
- Familiarity with LLMs (e.g. OpenAI, Hugging Face Transformers) and vector databases is highly desirable.
- Understanding of MLOps principles and tools (e.g. MLflow, DVC, Kubeflow).
- Experience in the insurance or financial services sector is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
