A Great opportunity to join an innovative and environmentally ethical company in the role of Buyer. As a Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, ensuring the best value while maintaining compliance with material standards and building timescales.
This role offers hybrid working with 2-3 days a week in the Honiton office, as well as flexibility in working hours to support a healthy work-life balance, if the weekly 40 hours are completed the working pattern can be at your discretion.
Buyer Responsibilities include:
- Source and purchase materials for projects, ensuring the best value and compliance with industry standards and project schedules
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favourable terms to meet budget and quality requirements
- Oversee stock levels and manage inventory to prevent shortages or overstock, ensuring procurement activities remain within budget
- Maintain accurate procurement records, work towards standardisation across projects, and identify opportunities for improving procurement efficiency
Buyer Requirements include:
- Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management; a Bachelor's degree or professional certification in a related field is preferred
- Strong negotiation, vendor management, and analytical skills, along with proficiency in procurement software
- Excellent organisational, time management, and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to work independently
- Familiarity with construction or engineering industries, including relevant standards and regulations, is desirable
